Soluna Solar Shades vs Levolor and Hunter Douglas
Compare named fabrics and complete quotes, not logos. Norman® Soluna™, Levolor, and Hunter Douglas each have product families that may differ by fabric, size, control, and market. We cannot establish another brand's current specifications from the brand name alone.
Start with the fabric datasheet
Ask for the exact weave, color, openness, and manufacturer-tested UV or optical data for each candidate. A 3% openness designation is not interchangeable with “97% UV protection.” Compare the published test methods and the window glass as well as shade fabric. Evaluate a physical sample in the room if possible; a screen can look very different against a bright outdoor scene than on a swatch card.
Compare fit and operation
Confirm whether each quote covers the same width, drop, mount, controls, top finish, shipping, tax, and installation scope. Wide windows or door openings may need a different fabric, hardware choice, or multiple panels; obtain written confirmation. Do not attribute a feature or limitation to Levolor or Hunter Douglas without checking the current model and seller.
Choose for the use case
If preserving a daytime view is essential, prioritize view-through and glare together. If evening privacy or sleep is primary, compare room-darkening fabric instead. Browse the Soluna solar collection, solar versus other opacity guide, and overall roller brand comparison.
